What is AI character chat?

AI character chat is a conversation with a fictional character that has its own personality and way of speaking, with the replies written by an AI model. On Elymi you pick a character and a scene, watch the opening, then reply in your own words. The character answers in role and the story continues from what you write.

Is AI character chat free on Elymi?

Yes. Text chat is free and unlimited on Elymi Web and in the iOS and Android app. Image and video generation uses Stars, and new users can earn a total of 1,400 free Stars through check-ins. Elymi supports English, Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese.

Can I roleplay with AI characters on Elymi?

Yes. Every character comes with scenes: a setting, an opening situation and a reason to start talking. Reply with dialogue, describe an action, or ask a question, and the character stays in role. You can also write a new scene for any character, including one made by another creator.

Does Elymi have anime AI characters?

Can I create my own AI character?

Yes. Give your character a personality and speaking style, then create scenes that set up your conversations. You don't need a new character for every story: one character can have many scenes, and you can add a scene to an existing character as well.

Can characters send images and videos in the chat?

Yes. During a chat you can use Stars to generate an image or a short video of the moment you're talking about. Images come from OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 and videos from ByteDance's Seedance 2.5. Replies are text by default; an image or video is generated only when you ask. A scene video also introduces each character before the chat starts.

Do Elymi characters remember past conversations?

Yes, within limits. Long-term memory carries names, preferences and earlier moments into later chats, so you can return to an unfinished scene or an inside joke. It can still miss or misremember details, so remind the character of anything important rather than relying on it to keep every message forever.

Is Elymi safe to use, and are my chats private?

Your chats aren't used to train AI models or for advertising. Messages and relevant context are processed to generate the character's replies, and access is restricted to authorized purposes such as operating the service and addressing safety issues. The Elymi Privacy Policy explains the AI providers involved and how information is stored, retained and deleted.

What's the difference between Elymi and DomoAI?

DomoAI is for making images and videos: character art, reference sheets, animation and talking-avatar clips.
